Southern Illinois Irish Festival in Carbondale | Arts & Culture
CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Sunny, cooler weather brought lots of people back out to the 17th annual Southern Illinois Irish Festival in Carbondale on Sunday.
It's been going on all this weekend, but Saturday's stormy weather put a bit of a damper on the event.
But a big crowd was back out Sunday to take in some of the Celtic culture.
"But you're going to find out things like corn beef and cabbage really isn't an Irish meal. But we were serving it yesterday," said Liam Lynch from Grand Rapids, Michigan. "All sorts of fun things and facts you'll learn. And we have historical musicians here replicating things that haven't been around for several hundred years."
Lots of Irish artisans were also on hand showing off their own Celtic creations.
