Southern Illinois Airport Authority receives $62,000 grant | Business
MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - The Southern Illinois Airport Authority has been awarded a $62,000 grant by the U.S. Economic Development Administration.
The funds will be used to assist with creating a development plan for the airport and a high-tech zone located on 900 adjacent acres, according to a release from U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello (D-IL).
“Southern Illinois University Carbondale has nationally recognized aviation and automotive programs, and this funding will help the region to fully capitalize on these assets,” Costello said in a release. “There is tremendous potential for further economic development in these areas.”
