DRS to relocate office to Murphysboro | Community Spirit

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Illinois Department of Human Services Division of Rehabilitation Services office in Carbondale will be relocating to Murphysboro, effective June 27.

The Division of Rehabilitation Services provides services for people with disabilities to help them in finding employment, including education and training. DRS also provides in-home services to allow persons with disabilities to reside at home rather than in a nursing home.

The new office will be located in the Jackson County Family Community Resource Center, 342 North St., Lower Level, Murphysboro.

Jackson County Mass Transit District provides wheelchair-accessible transportation from Carbondale to Murphysboro, picking up riders from any location in Jackson County Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

In addition, JCMTD provides free bus rides from Carbondale to Murphysboro on Wednesdays and Fridays, departing from the Bank of Carbondale at 216 E. Main St. at 9 a.m. and returning any time before 5 p.m. Riders would need to contact JCMTD at 618-549-0304 to schedule a return time.
