DU QUOIN, IL (KFVS) - Starting Friday, August 24 a 5 foot long, 4 foot tall stained glass kaleidoscope will be display at the Du Quoin State Fair.
For a limited time only, 11 days, the kaleidoscope will be on display by the Glass Haunt. Their booth space is located opposite the Grandstand. The wheel span along is 3 and a half feet. Organizers say you walk right up to it, look into it and spin the massive wheel.
This is a once in lifetime opportunity to see the largest stained glass kaleidoscope certainly ever built in Illinois, possibly in the world.
And why did they build it? Because the Glass Haunt loves the challenge. They said they like to do in stained glass that which others consider impossible and they consistently push the boundaries and take stained glass out of the realm of the boring geometric, pre fabricated bevel cluster designs seen at any stained glass studio up and down the country and prove that stained glass has a definite place in today's modern world.
According to the Glass Haunt, all their designs are first engineered on a computer CAD program and those designs are constantly pushing forward with fresh new vibrancy on a very old art.. If you don't have stained glass yet in your home, now would be the time to consider it with this fresh new approach from an international renowned artist at the Glass Haunt in Benton, Ill.
