MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - The Neighbor to Neighbor Angel Tree project at First Bank and Trust is now in full swing to help needy Murphysboro children at Christmas.
Cindy Reiman, project chairman, said the Christmas tree in the main lobby at the bank, 1403 Walnut, Murphysboro, is loaded with wishes of children, up to age 14. You can choose a wish list and select items that range from a new pillow and a blanket to a pair of fuzzy socks, or a toy or things most kids take for granted. Or, donations of gently used items, from baby snuggies to sweat suits will also find new homes.
Reiman said many make cash donations so that the children’s wishes can be met. She said the donations need to be in place by Dec. 12.
First Bank and Trust staff members also make the Neighbor to Neighbor Angel Tree project a year round focus, in addition to adoptions from the Tree.
