Jackson Co. Board accepts resignation of Burke, seat declared vacant | Community Spirit

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Jackson County Board announced they accepted the resignation of William Burke on January 15 and declared the seat vacant.
The Board says this will serve as Notice of Vacancy, in accordance with Section 25-11 of the Illinois Election Code, and their intent to nominate his replacement for County Board approval, with 60 days.
According to the Board, the replacement must be qualified to hold a seat on the County Board, reside in County Board District 3 and be a member of the Republican Party.
