CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -Governor Pat Quinn announced Thursday, capital investments of more than $343,000 for renovation projects at Southern Illinois University Carbondale and Giant City State Park near Makanda.
The projects are part of Governor Quinn’s agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois’ economy forward.
“It’s important that we maintain our higher education infrastructure and keep the public buildings at our state parks well-maintained,” Governor Quinn said. “This work will employ a number of construction workers, which also helps the local economy.”
The projects will be managed by the Illinois Capital Development Board.
The electrical distribution system at Southern Illinois University Carbondale will be upgraded with new electrical feeders and associated equipment. The work will be performed by W.J. Burke Electric Company of Murphysboro, the lowest of five bidders.
