Carbondale police look for suspects in attack, robbery on bike path

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Carbondale police are looking for suspects accused of attacking and robbing two people on a bike path.

Police say on Sunday, June 3 officers responded to the area of the bike path in the 700 block of South Wall Street in reference to a report of a robbery. They say around 2:35 a.m. the victims were walking on the bike path when they were approached by two to three unknown black males. The suspects attacked the victims, stole from them and then ran from the area.

According to police, all of the suspects were described as black males, and one or two of them were wearing dark clothing while another was wearing a horizontally striped shirt.

Both victims were taken to Memorial Hospital of Carbondale for treatment of non-threatening injuries. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
