Carbondale man arrested for carrying loaded gun, running from police | Crime

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A Carbondale man was arrested Sunday after police responded to reports of a man with a gun.

Andre V. Scott, 31, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful use of weapons by a felon, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct, no F.O.I.D. and resisting a peace officer.

According to the police department, officers arrived at the 700 block of South Wall Street at 3:30 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man with a gun. Before officers arrived, police say Scott left in a car. They say the car was found and stopped in the 100 block of South Wall Street.

Police say Scott ran from the car, but was arrested after a short foot chase. They say a loaded gun was found during the arrest.

Scott was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
