Wis. man arrested in Carbondale after fight, witnesses report man with gun | Crime

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Carbondale police arrested a Wisconsin man Saturday, August 18 after they see a fight and witnesses report someone with a gun.

Eric Thompson, 22, was charged with aggravated unlawful use of weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was taken to the Jackson County Jail.

Around 3 a.m. on Saturday, police say they were in the area of the 700 block of East Grand Avenue and saw several individuals engaged in a fight. According to police, several witnesses reported one of the participants was armed  with a handgun.

During the investigation, officers identified the suspect as Thompson and recovered the handgun. When he was arrested, police say Thompson was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.
