CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Four people were arrested Saturday night after Carbondale police received a call about a fight at the 400 block of West Mill Street.
Valerie M. Turner, 21; Hillary M. Hofstra, 22; and Kendal M. Edgett, 22 were charged with fighting.
Daniel W. Whitehead III, 21, was charged with criminal damage to property.
Around 12:55 a.m. police responded to the 400 block of West Mill Street. When they arrived, they say they saw a large fight in the alleyway and during the course of the investigation, it was determined some of the people had retreated inside a nearby apartment.
Police say another person forced his way inside the apartment in an attempt to continue fighting. They say the occupant forced that suspect out of the apartment and he was not found by police.
Police determined that Turner, Hofstra and Edgett had engaged in a mutual fight and were arrested. They say Whitehead was determined to have damaged the property of another during the fight and was arrested.
According to the police department, all those arrested were later released to appear in City court. They say the investigation is ongoing.
