Murphysboro police investigating at least 8 burglaries in same area | Crime
MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) - The Murphysboro Police Department report they have had at least eight vehicle burglaries on the west side of Murphysboro.
Police say the burglaries happened on Tuesday, Oct. 2 and Wednesday, Oct. 3 west of 20th Street north and south of Walnut Street. They say owners have discovered the thefts in the mornings that have happened overnight in the late night/early morning hours.
According to police, all vehicles that have entered were not locked and valuables were left in them. They say some items have been recovered that have been discarded by the suspects. The investigation into the suspects in continuing as the cases develop.
Police would like to remind residents to not leave items in vehicles and make sure the vehicles are locked. They ask that if you see an suspicious person, please call police so they can respond.
