Kankakee man pleads guilty, sentenced on drug charges | Crime
JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - Jackson County State's Attorney Michael C. Carr announced Monday that a Kankakee man entered a guilty plea Monday, December 18 to unlawful possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
Travaris Rowell, 34, was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court will having more than 400 grams, but less than 900 grams, of cocaine with the intent to deliver. Carr says Rowell pleaded guilty pursuant to a plea agreement and was sentenced to serve 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. The offense occurred on Aug. 4, 2010 in Carbondale.
According to Carr, this case is the culmination of an investigation conducted by the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group. Assistant State's Attorney Mark Hamrock was responsible for the prosecution of this case.
