Murphysboro man pleads guilty to burglary charges

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A Murphysboro man pleaded guilty Friday, January 18 to residential burglary.

Vincent M. Seyferth, 22, was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with residential burglary, pleaded guilty to pursuant to a plea agreement and was sentenced to serve seven years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

The Jackson County State's Attorney, Michael C. Carr, said Seyferth will serve a two year period of mandatory supervised release upon release from the Department of Corrections.

According to the state's attorney, the offense happed on May 22, 2011 on Hoffman Road in Murphysboro. This investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Assistant State's Attorney Casey Bloodworth was responsible for the prosecution of this case.
