Jackson County Sheriff's Office warns of phone scams
News

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS)- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about two possible phone scams.

They say one scam involves a caller informing people they have won more than two million dollars.

The scammer then tells the potential victim they have to pay a $2,800 deposit to cover taxes before the winnings can be collected. The scammer uses the phone number 867-843-9397.

The second scam is where the caller says they have to make a delivery.

When told no, the caller states it is and emergency delivery and a small amount is owed to the delivery company. This scammer uses the phone number 876-843-9397.

Investigators say if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

If you have a concern, contact local law enforcement.
