Anna man faces several child sex assault, abuse charges | News

ANNA, IL (KFVS)- A rural Anna man faces several child sex charges.

Benson T. Poirier, 33, of 1870 Old Highway 51 North in rural Anna has been charged with four counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child, all Class X felonies, and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, all Class 2 felonies, according to the Union County State's Attorney's Office.

Poirier is accused of committing acts of sexual conduct with children under 13 years of age between 2005 and 2012.

Poirier was arrested on October 19, 2012 after an investigation by the Illinois State Police.

Poirier was taken to the Jackson County Jail in Murphysboro and was released after posting $50,000 cash bond.
