21 registered nurses to be recognized Dec. 19 at JALC | News
(KFVS) - The Southern Illinois Healthcare's first class of RN Nurse Residents will be formally recognized Wednesday, December 19 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at John A. Logan College.
The event featuring 21 registered nurses will be in F-118/119 at the college and highlights the culmination of 18 weeks of specialized training with nurse mentors at the bedsides of patients' at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and Herrin Hospital.
The RN Nurse Resident program at SIH is a comprehensive education and training system designed specifically to transition newly graduated registered nurses from students to safe, competent professional practitioners.
New graduate nurses are considered to be those who have less than six months of nursing experience.
