CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A Murphysboro man was sentenced Wednesday, January 30 for burglary.
Michael C. Carr, Jackson County State's Attorney announced that Zachariah A. Kimmel, 35, was charged in Jackson County Circuit Court with burglary and was sentenced to serve five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
Kimmel will serve a two year period of mandatory supervised release upon his release from the Department of Corrections. The state's attorney says Kimmel previously entered a plea of guilty to burglary and was sentenced following a sentencing hearing on Jan. 30.
According to the state's attorney, the offense happened on Sept. 2, 2011 on Nana's Way in DeSoto, Ill. in which a building being used for storage was burglarized. This investigation was conducted by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department. Assistant State's Attorney Casey Bloodworth was responsible for the prosecution of this case.
