A Carbondale man has been charged with endangering the life or health of a child after a toddler is found unattended.
Romales Harty, 21, of Carbondale was arrested and charged with the crime after the Murphysboro Police Department was called by employees at the Illinois Department of Human Services, according to the Murphysboro Police Department.
According to police, a 22-month-old toddler was found unattended inside a vehicle on a parking lot and Hardy was soon located.
The man told police that the toddler was his nephew. Police say the toddler was not harmed and did not require medical treatment.
Harty posted bond and was released, according to police.
