Disabled Veteran

This is Father and Son, on Dec 31, 2011. Caleb Hovis, just came home from basic training in the US Air Force, and married his high school sweetheart day before leaving for tech school. He is now stationed at Tucson, AZ, and a viewer says her husband, Deron Hovis, is Active in the Army National Guard in Cape Girardeau, Mo. She says she is so very proud of the both.

Lawanda F. Swearengin says she comes from a long line of Veterans. These are pictures of her daughter-in-law, mother and father in WWII, her youngest son USCG, oldest son US Army, her husband USAF, her son-in-law USAF and her USAF. She says she and her husband are both retired from the USAF. He is the director of the Veteran’s Cemetery in Bloomfield, Mo. and she helps Veterans on a daily basis.

Aeriel Cryer says her grandpa served during the Vietnam era. This picture was taken on the day of her grandparents' wedding.

Missed immensely by his family and many friends...Sep 19, 1943 - Sep 10, 2011. He was Sergeant E-5.

Cindy Raines from Cape Girardeau sent us this picture of her husband, Specialist Gary Raines, who served in Vietnam 1968-1969. She says Gary was a baker for the US Army, and a supply clerk.

Mandy Smith says this is her husband, her soldier, Logan Daniel Smith from Jonesboro, Ill. She says they’re stationed at Fort Drum, N.Y. He's been on one 12-month deployment to Afghanistan, and is preparing for another, coming this spring. He has 3 daughters: Audrey (6), Mallory (2) and Samantha (2 months).

Here is a picture of my father Leonard Howard Taylor from Wappapello, Mo. receiving his medal from the commander of the Air National Guard of Poplar Bluff, Mo. He served 25 years in the Navy and started as a gunners mate shooting at zeros at the Battle of Midway. Going on after the war, he was a pistol shooter for the Navy and received a gold medal. He currently lives behind me, George Taylor his son, also a Veteran of Desert Storm. My oldest brother Larry Howard Taylor was in Vietnam and finally my third brother Leonard Wayne Taylor SR was a 5th Group Sniper Instructor at Ft Campbell, Ky. for 27. We all served our country. Thanks to all the Brothers and Sisters in arms.

Debra Lawrence-Wilson says this is a picture of her dad, Charles Lawrence. He is 81 years old and from Valier, Ill. He fought in the Korean War. She says she was very proud to have gotten the opportunity to introduce him to Lee Greenwood this year and she’s so proud of my dad and his service.

Twilla Hart from Poplar Bluff, Mo. says her brother joined the Air Force out of high School in 1962 stayed until 1974 He was part of the SAC team serving stateside in Hawaii, Michigan, Arizona and Blythville Ark.
